The Ombili Foundation in Tsumeb, Namibia
The Ombili Foudation is since 1990 located on the farm Hedwigslust Nr. 307 nearby Tsumeb.
The aim is to work with the Khoi-San-people to enable gradual intergration into the developing Namibian society. The main priorities are consistent access to education, the creation and preservation of jobs and the cultivation of the millennia-old tradition and culture of the Khoi-San-people.
In the meantime, the children enjoy careful care in kindergarten and shooling in their own primary school (up to grade 7).
The school is state-approved and enjoy’s a good reputation in Namibia.
Today, about 700 people live on Ombili in the three villages of Nepara, Olakula and Otjolo.

The Ombili Foundation is trying to enable the Khoi-San-people to live in our modern world. Their Traditions are really under treat in an ever-changing society.
For many Khoi-San-people (Bushmen) is craftmenship an extra way of earning money to support themselves.
They use the natural materials of the environment, such as palm leaves, tambori and jacaranda wood and also ostrich eggs and wild cotton.
Wooden animals are created but also very nice jewelry and wickerwork.
